We're not going to go on here about food miles, food out of season, the power of supermarkets, additives etc etc here as there are plenty of sources for all of the information you need to become more aware - listed below. Although we knew of them before, having them as our neighbours at the 2006 Bath & West Show gave us the chance to chat and sample lots. Well worth seeking out. | The EPA was set up in 1995 to actively promote the wide range of businesses that are producing goods in the greater Exmoor area.
The EPA has had a shop since 2000 which is co-operativly run by around 20 members. It was previously located at Washford Mill but in 2006 moved to 11 Friday Street, Minehead. Well worth a visit for locally produced gifts, including Nutcombe Chocolates! The EPA has a schedule of promotions and events though the year, developing retailing opertunities locally, nationally and through the internet. |
