The EPA was set up in 1995 to actively promote the wide range of businesses that are producing goods in the greater Exmoor area.

It has around 60 members, who make a wide variety of goods. Members include artists, craftspeople, food producers and miscellaneous businesses that are producing goods on and around Exmoor. Whilst many of these are selling to the tourist and resident markets through local outlets, others are selling nationally and over seas.

The EPA has had a shop since 2000 which is co-operativly run by around 20 members. It was previously located at Washford Mill but in 2006 moved to 11 Friday Street, Minehead. Well worth a visit for locally produced gifts, including Nutcombe Chocolates!

The EPA has a schedule of promotions and events though the year, developing retailing opertunities locally, nationally and through the internet.

Well known producers of Somerset Cider Brandy, liquers and aperitifs and, of course, ciders.

Although we knew of them before, having them as our neighbours at the 2006 Bath & West Show gave us the chance to chat and sample lots. Well worth seeking out. For professional views on their products check some of the review on their web site

The cider was particularly refreshing during a very busy and hot show!

Exmoor & Quantock Local Food Ltd, trading as Source, has been established to provide the distribution link between local producers and potential trade and home customers. Operating as a co-operative, the office and warehouse are on Tower Farm in Lydeard St Lawrence, and the producers are based across the Exmoor and Quantock area.

Using Source can give you the opportunity to discover produce previously not available for delivery. The bsuiness works with a wide range of local producers who can supply a variety of goods including award winning ice cream, organic desserts, farmed and wild venison, organic and naturally grown fruit and vegetables, traditionally made cheddar, rare breed pork, traditionally reared lamb and beef, poultry, award winning ducks, Exmoor spring water, organic dairy products, chocolates, cakes and pies, preserves, crayfish, game…and much more besides.

Our favourite cheddar cheese maker. We like their cheese so much that we use their double cream when we make our fresh cream truffles!
