| LOCAL FOOD AND OTHER INTERESTING LINKS |

Through our involvement in farmers' markets and food festivals and events over the past few years we have, not surprisingly, become passionate about locally produced and fresh food. We're not going to go on here about food miles, food out of season, the power of supermarkets, additives etc etc here as there are plenty of sources for all of the information you need to become more aware - listed below.

This page will include details of producers of all varieties we have met at farmers' markets and food festivals. We only list those whose products we have sampled and/or bought and liked. Of course these are only our views but why not seek them out and see if you agree? Drop us a line and let us know.

Work on this page continues when time permits - please visit regularly to find new details and drop me a line if you're come back and nothing's changed! Please also bear in mind that this page will contain many links to other web sites the contents of which are beyond our control - please get in touch if anything requires our attention.

Well known producers of Somerset Cider Brandy, liquers and aperitifs and, of course, ciders.

Although we knew of them before, having them as our neighbours at the 2006 Bath & West Show gave us the chance to chat and sample lots. Well worth seeking out. For professional views on their products check some of the review on their web site

The cider was particularly refreshing during a very busy and hot show!

The EPA was set up in 1995 to actively promote the wide range of businesses that are producing goods in the greater Exmoor area.

It has around 60 members, who make a wide variety of goods. Members include artists, craftspeople, food producers and miscellaneous businesses that are producing goods on and around Exmoor. Whilst many of these are selling to the tourist and resident markets through local outlets, others are selling nationally and over seas.

The EPA has had a shop since 2000 which is co-operativly run by around 20 members. It was previously located at Washford Mill but in 2006 moved to 11 Friday Street, Minehead. Well worth a visit for locally produced gifts, including Nutcombe Chocolates!

The EPA has a schedule of promotions and events though the year, developing retailing opertunities locally, nationally and through the internet.
